I had SSK's weaver style base (T'SOB) on my 7.82 patriot XP and it held up fine (8x32's screws. sad thing was SSK screwed it up and it was bowed. Greg Tannel fixed it and bedded it (epoxy?) and it held up fine. A far as the weaver goes, I don't know since I have never used them for anything with significant recoil. Near's pic bases are great and I have them on all of my XP's save one which is a Farrel.
I would contact Richard and order a 20 MOA base. You can always take those minutes out with the Burris Signature Zee Rings (or add to it for further shooting). [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]
If you plan to use a 1 inch tube you can add 40 minutes through the rings themself (60MOA w/the base).
