I am interested in this rifle for Mule Deer, Whitetail, and Antelope.
What is maximum range for effective kill shot on these Deer?
What is barrel life?
What is barrel life if this rifle was re-chambered to 6.5mm STW?
I will probably be using Accubonds or Bergers.
It depends on what your def of effective kill range is. My definition is based on the expansion of the bullet. At 3000' elevation, a 140 high BC bullet with an MV of ~ 3000 will get to ~ 800 yds with 1800 fps of velocity which is the minimum expanding velocity for the bullets you mentioned. Higher elevations will increase your range.
Barrel life can be affected by a lot of things, but case capicity vs bore diameter (overbore) is probably one of the biggest considerations. To get high LR performance usually means using overbore cartridges in the smaller calibers, .308 and down. if you want to increase barrel life, back your loads down a little from max and make sure you let the barrel cool between shots.
