RSI Shooting Lab

I have a mac laptop that I would love using both in the field and at the reloading bench. I have used exbal, but it is not being made for a mac. Therefore I am in search of another program, if there is one on the same level as exbal. I know that the RSI shooting lab is written for the window system too, and I am wondering if anyone has used this ballistics program. If so, how accurate is it and how well does it perform. Any help would be greatly appreciated. RSI Shooting Lab is their website. There is a 30-day demo if someone would download it and look at it and tell me what they think about it.

A mac is like having a one off wildcat in the world of software. Everything runs on Windows. There has been no reason to use mac since Windows 2000 ( over 5 years ago ). Sell the mac. You don't buy a .223 and expect to shoot .308's in it. You don't buy computer hardware then look for software - software always comes first.

Re: RSI Shooting Lab

The eliability of my mac far exceeds any windows system that I have ever used. Going to school in the last 15 years has allowed me the experience of using many of both. I have yet to see a mac crash, run slow, or be out performed by any windows computer. The linux operating program, utilized by mac, is one unsurpassed. Thats why many large company databases utilize them.

Anyway, the question was regarding the RSI ballistics program. If we would stop trying to find something wrong with what people have and stick to the question, then that would eliminate a lot of time wasted on arguing.

We should avoid a Mac v. Windows debate: agreed:

Objective measurements show this is no longer true with XP and Win03. Mac has lost the advantage

No large companies use Mac's for DB apps - I know, I did DB work for MS for 6 years. Mac has zero presence in the server DB arena.
I've also published several papers on computer performance - but Mac's were never considered because they are desktop machines, not serious servers.

Used XP laptops are cheap. Upgrade to 256 MB RAM and you can run all the software you need.

Re: RSI Shooting Lab

If I did not make myself clear the first or second time, I would like to take this opportunity to do so. I WANT TO KNOW HOW RSI PERFORMS COMPARED TO EXBAL. It seems that everyone is getting tied up where it says I own a mac and, by the way, it will not be sold because the graphing programs and other programs that I use on it are far superior to the windows counterparts.

Re: RSI Shooting Lab

Buy the RSI program for the home computer and Exbal in the PDA version for field use, you will have the best of both then. That is currently what I use and have been for about 2 years.

Re: RSI Shooting Lab

Brent, I appreciate you answering my question. That had crossed my mind, but I had not really seen much about the RSI system.
