Remingtion Rebates

Remington must really be struggling financially... I mailed my rebate in for a rifle I purchased and they mailed it back telling me the offer expired. It was sent to them on 1/10/10. I just got it returned today 2/10/10. This is probably the way their warranty works too.

Re: Remingtion Rebates

I would bet that rebate program ended at the end of 09. Most of them are set up on a year to year basis and then they will change the program to include different models to help stimulate sales in other areas that need it.

Re: Remingtion Rebates

MAil In Rebates are a marketing gimmick that most merchants hope will never make it through the labrynth of red tape.

They know that a lareg percentage of partticipants will not go through the hassle and of those that due a percentage will not dot the (i) or cross a (t) and will be excluded, thereby dropping even further the actual investment on their part to run the advertizing campaign.

If they truly wished to reduce the price, instant rebate would be the vehicle.

By using mail in rebates it is a disengenuous method to allow the marketing engine to list lower prices and get the general buyers attention, while actually keeping their margin of profit stable.

In my personal opinion, it is less than honest.

Re: Remingtion Rebates

HORNADY is the same. I mailed the rebate/bullet offer from a set of die, along with photo copy of bar code/label as the label is glued in such a way as to make it impossible to remove without destroying the die case, and the other stuff required, EXCEPT THE CHECK, my bad. I recieved the following response.

Claim returned to you as non reponsive, payment not recieved, bar code/label not recieved. PS you could try using a hair drier to remove the label.

I realize I forgot to put the check in the envelope, but the Hair drier thing pissed me off. I sent a letter to Hornady that said. "Thanks for the hair drier tip, I'll use it next time I have a problem opening a box of NOSLER bullets"

Re: Remingtion Rebates

I think its a sign of them struggling... which over the last yr I can understand, but I also believe you dont "shoot the hand that feeds you..." and they should honor their gimmicks. Actually, these are and should be the best of times for them! I remember a recent stretch where every gunshop couldnt keep stuff on shelves!

50driver... the "promo" says on the coupon 1/15/10.

Buckbrush... heres the gimmick hotline # if you dont have it... 1-800-432-5807
