Since "all the rounds" bind, it's not an issue of the magazine being too full. I would think it has to be a problem with bullet contour and/or cartridge length. The only way a cartridge is going to bind and put a dent in the side of the case is if the head of the cartridge is being held by the bolt while the bullet contacts the side of the chamber. Try going with a different bullet contour and/or a shorter cartridge.
There are times when cartridge feeding issues are because of a defect in the gun. If that's the case, the feed ramp may need to be polished or perhaps even modified a little.
A muzzle brake huh? Was the recoil a bit much? A muzzle brake would have nothing to do with how cartridges feed.
