I just couldn't resist, compared chamber prints of .264 Win. Mag. & 6.5x61 Super. They appear to have similar capacity and the loading manual I looked at showed the .264 with about the same charge weight with same bullet weights. I guess it boils down to what one would consider "exceptable accuracy" when it comes to barrel life. The 1200 rds. I mentioned earlier for the 6.5x284 refers to the tactical 'match' rifles I've worked with. Those guys screw a new tube on every year!
