Re: Rate of Twist

Take a cleaning rod with a TIGHT fitting patch, insert rod (from breach end with rod guide I hope) until patch is engaged with rifling, place a small piece of masking tape around cleaning rod and place a mark on the tape at rear of action. Now before you push the rod in the barrel go back on the rod about 14 to 15 inches and put another piece of tape on the rod and mark the top dead center of the rod.
Now push the rod in UNTIL it makes one revolution, now mark the rod at the same reference point you used before.
Now pull rod back out and measure the distance between the two marks and that is your rate of twist.
