Re: Powder recomendations 200gr. Accubond 300WM??

Northernsniper.

My buddy and forum member Gonehuntingagain shoots a 300 with 200 gr accubonds. I will send him an email and tell him to find this post and see if he can help you out.

I am going to post a series of pictures of a gong we shot at a few weeks ago. The coolest hits were from his 300 accubond load at a mere 100 yds.

I will post it here in Bullets barrels and ballistics. Hopefully tonight.

4ked Horn That would be very helpful especialy if fps is in the info, I don't have a chrono yet. So far 71gr Reloader 22 looks like it has given most of the people that responded the best results.

I seat mine so they just fit in the mag. of my Savage 112bvss. I use it for hunting first, shooting little group at the range is just an added bonus. As for the drop chart I haven't had a chance to work past 400 yds., but out that far they seem to run awfully close to Ian's chart above.

Re: Powder recomendations 200gr. Accubond 300WM??

In my Win M70 300 mag, factory barrel with the BOSS, I use 69gr IMR4350 and get 2950fps with the 200gr Accubond, seated to mag length - it doesn't matter if it is 80F or 20F outside either. With a 200 yd zero, my actual drops are (in MOA):
250 -0.5
300 -2
350 -2.5
400 -4
I haven't worked on ranges past 400 (yet!), and probably won't until I get a real scope on it.
I worked up to this load, and it doesn't show pressure signs in my gun. I found this load in a very old manual (Speer #3).

As for not having a chronograph, use the velocities that people are listing here to plug into a ballistics calculator, then go out and find out what your real drops are. Mine were different than what the calculator said they should be, some by quite a bit.
These new accubonds are awesome - I was shooting 165gr ballistic tips (3200 fps) with a 100 yard zero - I had to adjust my scope DOWN 6" for the accubonds to be zeroed at 100. I just want to see what they will do to an Elk now
