Re: New Cooper 6br

Thanks Gator, yea i really do like the look of wood as well. ANd i think we both know a ol boy with a wood stocked cooper and we have seen that SOB shoot so i aint really worried about rigidity or anything else. I definantly think it will take a while to wear out this bbl but I plan on giving her a serious workout pretty soon, i am also planning on dotting a doe in the eye with this thing in the fall.

When we picked up the NF line i was gonna sell this VXIII but then i thought that a NF would look stupid on a pretty cooper. Then about a week ago i sold a guy a cooper 220 swift and a NF NXS and when i mounted it up for him it looked damn nice so maybe in a year or so she will get a new hat, the VXIII is doing fine for now.

Re: New Cooper 6br

Steve -- I run R15 and CR 106's right now, but will be out of bullets after the next match, and back to scenars or SMK's unless Greg has good news for me on jacket supply...

30-31.5 varget
30.6-31.2 R15

cr106

CCI450

lapua

These are HOT loads...approach with caution.

20 in the lands is where i started and I haven't had to move the bullets.

~1.5thou neck tension works. (.268 TiNit bushing)

Nice shoot'n iron...dittos on the 2 posts by jb

"Harrells" are nothing but specialists on 6ppc's and 6br dies period!!! they will also send you a precision bushing that will allow you to measure your shoulder bump thats very easy to use....

the loads jb listed are also great but again... warm!
not sure what you mean by not trying the bergers...the amax's are great and have an old world record for paper anyway....
good luck and have fun...

Re: New Cooper 6br

Lerch,
I hope you enjoy yours as much as i enjoy mine, we have a virtually identical set up except i have standard wood and standard twist.
I am launching 68grn bergers at 3350fps and they really tear up the varmints.
I have already knocked and marked the stock several times no matter how hard i try not to
