New Cooper 6br

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this but there is a barrel, it shoots bullets, so there must be some ballistics so here we go.

My Cooper Model 22 varminter 6br came in tuesday morning and I finally got around to getting some pics of her so here they are,

It is a 1-8 twist so that I can shoot the 105amax's. I decided on these bullets over the 105 berger after seeing the amax have a little better terminal preformance past 1000yds. I decided also to go for the AAA wood upgrade since i have never owned a true pretty gun and all day long I work around Kreighoff shotguns with thousand dollar chunks of wood on them. Hopefully i can keep her good lookin but only time will tell. I decided to go with Cooper for there bbl policy and I plan on using it to the fullest.

I am still waiting on the redding dies but they should be in next week and then it is load development time. I plan on trying varget and reloader 15 after reading about JB1000r having good luck with it on 6br.com.

Just wanted to let you all see her and open the floor to any tips on loads.

thanks
steve

You call that wood an upgrade??? I've seen better wood on a Savage !!

J/K. Beautiful gun and I know she'll shoot little tiny groups. Especially if you'll let me shoot her!!!

Re: New Cooper 6br

Well I must admit that is one good looking stock. ANd that is coming from a guy that firmly believes wood has no business being on any gun made in the last 50 years! I love wood shooting benches and wood coffee tables, but I want rigidity in my gunstocks! Hang that one over the fireplace before it gets scratched.

Lerch, good looking rifle. I love that stock, it's beautiful! I can't wait to hear how she shoots. How much do the Coopers cost, with the upgraded stock?

Good looking rifle Steve. I like wood on any rifle, especially good looking wood.
Yea - Let B.J. break it in for you, that's what I would do .
It will probably be a long time before you have to use Coopers bbl. policy with this rifle.
Looks like you got the scope ring height right on the money.
Hey - what's that Gold Ring Scope doing on there? I thought you were going to go strictly NF.

Gorgeous Steve

Wouldn't get the redding dies in this case...for similar money you can have a custom die -- send a 3x fired case to Harrells and get one of their Bushing FL dies...you wont regret it.

and a Stainless Micrometer Wilson seater...

I'd be afraid to take that thing out!

Re: New Cooper 6br

bud i dont buy anything to hang over the fireplace. she will see plenty of work, and i am sure a few scratches. i just have to be easy with her and I am sure she will still be turning heads when she is 50.
