Need a specal stock for semi disabled man

I have a freind thats wants to put together a long range hunting rig and the only problem is finding him a stock. His right hand was badly injured in a work accident some time ago and has left him with out finger tips. What we came up with is a stock with a large thumbhole that has plenty of room and no trigger gaurd. Like the heavy stock bill sheane makes. He has to be able to have a large portion of his hand close to the trigger to fire. Any info or custom stock makers that could help would be apprecitaed. This is going to be a top notch rifle so quality will be appreciated. Thanks again reed

Reed,

What action were you thinking of using. Finished, unfinished,...?? Time frame...??

Reed , you might give a Joel Russo a buzz he has some realy nice wood and might be able to come up with something.
He's building me a one of his A-5L for my Sako , and I'll tell ya I'm realy impressed and pleased with his customer service.
I know a guy that I bow hunt with that has the same problem index and middel finger were cut off at the first nuckle and he made a prosthetic (sp) for his index finger.

Another idea might be to learn to shoot left handed ?

Jim I going to use a savage short action right hand and a un-finished stock would be fine. He doesn't have much control of his left arm so the left handed thing is out. I have heard lots of good things about Joels stocks maybe I'll try to get in touch with him. Thanks again

Reed,

I may have or can have what you are looking for. I have a pattern stock already for the short action RH and the Savage can be set back even farther than I normally set them back in my stocks as the rear action screw is forward of the trigger guard. It would be the perfect action for this project in my opinion.

What is the time frame you are looking at?

Do you have an e-mail address I can send some pics to so you can see what I am doing. I just finished a Savage for myself, and can get some pics to you in a day or so.

Jim
