Need some help. cant decide brand of rifle.

It may help us a bit if you pitched a rough budget at us. You will need to put at least a couple of hundred dollars, possibly much more, on top of this rifle too, so keep that in mind.
In my mind a base grade adl/sps rem is whooped by a tikka, but not for some of the better rem stuff. Older Vanguards were junk, so I haven't stepped to the plate on them lately. Savage often shoot well, but their axis leaves a lot to be desired. Browning is always a choice, as is Winchester. How about TC??
Most of the makers put out some rather decent stuff; I've got most everyone but Weatherby and Beretta in my basement. I may just have to go shopping to rectify that problem.........

Trust me, the new Vanguards are very nice. I have a later model Series 1 Vanguard SS that was my only centerfire for years. When I finally went out and bought a Remington 700, I was actually unimpressed by the quality/price ratio between the Vanguard and M700, and the accuracy difference between the two.

But what the other guys are saying is 100% true- Any of the rifles mentioned will get the job done just fine.

I'd also look into the Thompson Center Venture (guaranteed 1 MOA accuracy)................. at least if you don't mind a stubby bolt handle.

how are the tc ventures? i have held one before and it wasn't bad but I haven't heard much about them

Are you planning on upgrades? or shooting it purely stock for its life? I would consider a Savage or Remington. I shoot Remington and am thinking about trying a Savage next time. The ones I've shot seem pretty nice and easily upgradeable. Good luck with whatever you buy.

I'm a Winchester guy, so for simmilar reasons the Rem 700, gets my vote if you want upgrades.
I've hered a lot of negative about Remington as a whole lately tho.

If it were "Me" & I couldn't get a Winchester (or in your case Rem) id go Weatherby. Any of em. Series 2 Vanguard, thru Mark 5, or Lasermark.
My personal opinion is that if your going to play "factory gun roulette" go with known Accuracy or Buildable platforms. Wby is guaranteed sub moa. Rem, Not so much lately.
Rem is more easily buildable, & Wby doesn't even compare for aftermarket parts.
Either will get the job done. Weigh your options, & future plans for your rifle. Pick one & run with it, & don't look back

One quick side note on the Vanguard.
If you want to go with a Wby chambering such as 300Wby for example, get the Mark 5 with the 26" pipe. The Vanguard only offers a 24" pipe, & a 300 Win will basically run with a 24" barreled 300 Wby.

Try a model 116 Savage in 6.5x284. Plenty of long range power for deer and yotes. The new Savage rifles are the best out of the box. With the accu-trigger and accu-stock and the ability to change barrels at home with a wrench and a go gage you can't go wrong. If you don't like the very good standard trigger , rifle basix makes an after market trigger. In the 6.5 you have the best bullet bc's and lapua brass. My last Remington was crap! The vanguard is , well , unamerican. Savage has the best trigger, stock, barrel ( button pulled like a top dollar custom ) , fastest lock time. There is a reason Savage is winning shooting comps. all over with factory guns.
