Look at the Leupold MK4 with the TMR and M1 turrets as well. Its a dam fine scope and will be in the same price range.

Hey Chris
What do you think that #4 barrel 26" long and fluted will weight once it's finished ready to go on the gun?
Just over 3lbs?

Re: My first custom rifle build

Your build sounds pretty nice. Here's my take....

Trigger - get a Jewell and don't look back. 2lbs is nice but rest assured, with practice you will be able to handle a lower setting. As for the Timney, ALWAYS skip them. Two of my friends had them and both of the triggers failed. One of them even failed after being sent back to Timney for repair.

Caliber - 26nosler - have you given consideration to the many other 6.5mm options? Generally speaking, when choosing a cartridge, I look at what Lapua makes and choose one of them.

Re: My first custom rifle build

The 26 nosler is quite the cartridge. I would suggest looking into the 6.5 SS.
It's built off of the short action and actually fits in the mag box with bullets seated at the lands. A lot of 'short action' magnums become single feed when bullets are seated long. The short action will save you weight and give you a stiffer action.
