I ordered a clear manners eh1 also after seing them at the shot show. The finish is what they call field grade meaning it is not a perfect smooth finish. I think that term field grade is the perfect description for what it looked like. Perfect for what I want.

Re: McMillan Edge Clear Coat Finish

I talked some more with McMillan over the phone and they did say that compared to their speckled paint finish, the clear coat will be smoother and the non-textured surfaces would be less grippy when wet. So although I like the look of the carbon fiber, I want as much grip as possible in all hunting conditions.

So ordered Olive w/ black and gray speckle in a game scout edge. Now I have 6 months to sit on my thumbs waiting for the stock, and 7 months waiting for the rifle being built to fit in it!
