Can't speak for PAC nor but I've been impressed with my McGowan. My pre fit was at my door in 5 days from order and will just just about any load I throw through it under 3/4 moa

I guess a more important question would be how much difference is this going to be from a factory sps varmint barrel?!? I haven't bought one yet so don't know there out of the box accuracy but wanted to know if one of these barrels would improve that? Plan on putting it in a manners mini chassis!

It all depends on which McGowen profile that you opt for. I have a drop-in on order right now (there is currently a 12-week backlog) that is a 32" #8 heavy target (1" at muz) profile,

Glad to see the thumbs-up ratings for McGowen!

P.S. - If you mean't that you are planning to match the factory barrel's contour, then I don't know.

I've had several PAC-Nor bbls over the years and all have shot great. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase one.

Re: mcgowan vs pac nor barrels

I have worked on a lot of Mcgowen barrels. I have seen them come in the wrong contour, not threaded correctly, bore vary in size a lot from one end of the barrel to the other and between same caliber barrels. I have used a few pacnors that were good. My favorite barrel company is Brux.
