IMR 4831??

I have been working up a load with this powder and have found that under a 190 SMK the books post a max load anywhere from 68.3 to 72.8 grn. Why the difference? I am shooting a 28" hart barrel with a mod 70 action in a 300WM. I am getting the best groups with 72 grns @ about 3025 fps. I am wondering if I am too high? I havent seen any pressure signs yet. Re: IMR 4831??

samson, with the 28" tube the velocity of 3025 seems very reasonable. If you are showing no signs of pressure I would stick with that load. No need to go any faster as an additional 50 or 75 fps won't get you much for balistic gains. Keep the load accurate and safe.
