if you were to build a 6.5 rifle...

im a 264 win mag fan and have 3 of them but looking for ideas on another rifle or maybe im looking for a unicorn I havnt decided. heres what im wanting to do and maybe some of you more knowledgeable folk can help me.
im looking for a parent case that can push a 6.5mm bullets 130-140gr at 3200+ fps accurately while not being extremely overbore, not labor intensive with brass sizing and resizing and horribly expensive. 24-26" barrel that weights in at no more than 9.5 lbs scoped. what components would YOU choose?

You have just described the 264 Win mag. Why try to go around your thumb to get to your elbow?

I think for the sake of something different the wsm necked to 6.5 would be in the right place for you.

What about a 6.5 Rem mag, it was one if not the first SA mags.
In a 24" barrel with todays powders I bet you could have your cake and eat it to...

Go for the 6,5x68! A fantastic round with an overwhelming performance that already exists. Brass is directly available from RWS. On the other hand, you can neck down 8 x68S brass from either Norma or RWS.

The 6.5 Sherman is the perfect fit, very easy to form brass by sizing down then fire forming a 270 Win case. Very good chambering right in the performance level your looking for!!
