Re: Idea for a new 6.5 wildcat for the new 160 gr Matrix

The matrix bullet really interest me. I am thinking of the WSM case to reach 3100. are you guys looking to run hotter and allot faster hence the reason for the larger cases...Or do you need the bigger cases to get 3100.

For my application I think this is a excellent bullet. (competition)

I don't know what the WSM or SAUM cases will get to with the 160. If 3100 is possible with them, then 3100+ is easily done with the 6.5/7 LRM and a light load.

What chambering, barrel length, and powder are you using?

I have read about some shooters annealing the tips. Do you know if a thinner jacketed 160's are in the works? Are you, or anyone you know, planning on using them on deer or antelope anytime soon?

The issue as I know it with the jacket is there are no jackets made long enough to make this bullet in 6.5 so it's a drawn down 30 cal jacket to get the length needed to make it so I don't know if a thinner jacket is possible.

We're going to light them up on some deer and elk and I think Rich has them loaded as well!
