How much different will my gun shoot

I am going to Wyoming in a week.. I shoot a 338RUM zeroed at 300yds.. 400 yds about 9 inches low 500 is about 25inches low.. this is all at sealevel... How much different is this gonna be at 7000-9000 feet. Is it just a couple inches high or is it drastic,,, I use a leupold with B&C reticle, it is right on the money. I wont have time to really doa chart or anything... is there a table out there with this info, I wont be shooting over 600 yds..... Any info or personal advice would be great

We would need more info., like bullet weight, muzzle velocity, are you using factory amo?

You can also go here and use this online application to create drop tables.

Re: How much different will my gun shoot

UltraMag45, (Trace 1) is for altitude = 0 and (Trace 2) is for altitude = 8000 ft. You'll find out that about 750 yards or so you can miss a whole deer just due to altitude change.

Notice that by just moving your rifle to 8000 ft of altitude, your zero is not any more at 300 yards; now it's at 308 yards and at 300 yards you're almost 1/2" higher which is the beginning of larger changes as the distance gets longer.

If you measure the scope height (from center of bore to center of scope) I'll do my best to make a drop chart for you.

Re: How much different will my gun shoot

I believe it is standard 1.5......remember i am not using clicks as I have the b&C reticle. just wondering how many inches difference it would be from 400 to 600 yds than sea level... at 400 my gun drops around 9- 10 inches. 500 it is 24-26inches.. 600 46-48inches.... thanks
