High BC Hunting 165gr bullet

Looking for information on a good BC 165gr bullet for 30-06, hunting at long ranges
as well as load information.
Will be hunting in open country high desert, there are large bucks and only long
shots if you are lucky to find them.......Saw some pictures of the bucks and well worth the
effort and would make a wall hunger.......

Re: High BC Hunting 165gr bullet

If you bump it up to the 168 grain variety, the 168 Nosler BT is published at .490 or .491. The 168 AMAX is published at less than that but I am getting .495 out of it in my 308. Dont under estimate the AMAX's ability to cleanly harvest medium sized game such as deer. They also open up at low velocity. Perfect for LR deer. Match accuracy to boot. My buddy and I just harvested a ram recently with the 168 AMAX. It did a stellar job.

My answer to this is. The only reason is to make the 7 RM look good. There is no other reason.
