Hi DC: You got me thinking again
Hi DC and others:
As mentioned in a few other posts I am still in the planning phases of building a new custom rifle. I like the 6.5-06 Ackley and have landed on a 30" 3 groove barrel (9 twist, I think)? I will use a Remington 700 Action, I am still hunting for one in Stainless Steel at the right price. I have one in blue but don't know how it will look with a SS barrel.
DC mentioned the 6.5-06 Gibbs, and I was wondering what the difference is between that and the Ackley? Will one give a little more velocity over the other, is there any major differences?
I do have plenty of time and it seems the longer I wait the more confused I become. I guess that goes with building a custom rifle.
