Re: heyim sr 30 g vs. any american hunting rifle
In order to compare two rifles (Of any kind) you must look
at all aspects of each rifle and compair each with each other.
Things Like ; Cost,workmanship,operation, dependability,
function,materal quality,use, performance ,accuracy,ETC.
Start with cost= This has a lot to do with what a person buys.
Accuracy= another major selling point.
Fit and finish = Important but not a deal breaker to some buyers.
Dependability = responsible for most repeat buys.
Design = this is where the difference of opinions are way apart.
There is a point that one can over engineer a weapon and it will
not work as well under adverse conditions.
Some examples= The luger,A fine weapon but drop it in the mud and
it will most likely not continue to work but the 1911 colt will.
The FN/Fal another fine weapon very well made,
accurate, expensive, and one of my favorites. But it is not the number
1 assault rifle in the world. A stamped out, cheaply made rifle called a
A fine rifle is a wonderous thing to have, but expensive and pretty
does not make it shoot .
As far as german made rifles, I like them all. I have had some of the best,
Krieghoff and Anschutz for an example but most of what I have had and
still have are Remingtions because they work every time I need them and
They will shoot with anything in the world .
Its like buying a Mercedes and driving it until it wears out (some where
between 100,000 miles and 300,000 miles ) Or buying a chevy or ford and
getting the same miles out of them at 1/4 the cost .
I don't know what a Heyim sr 30 g cost but I'll bet it's more than $400.00
to $500.00 (the cost of most 700 remingtion hunting rifles) and will not
shoot any better.
It all boils down to what you want and are willing to pay for,
