Hard hitting, accurate load with a .308 168 grain berger bullet.

I am needing a good hard hitting accurate load for a .308 168 grain berger bullet. i have looked and looked and cannot really find anything so if any one has a good load using 168 grain berger vld bullets let me know.

what rifle? what are you shooting at?? for powders- i 4064, varget and re-15 in that order.

the rifle will have a mauser 98 action with a medium/heavy barrel 24". and will be shooting mainly whitetail deer and pigs

You might look back in this forum I worked up a load and several other members gave me some some starting points. My load ended up 43.5 gr. of Varget load @ 2.810 with BR2 primers. Good Luck

Whatever you can run with the powders above (safely) you can run faster with N540. Every bit as accurate as well. 2800'/sec+ is very easy with N540 under the 168's. I wont say how much + it is. You will have to work those up on your own.

Why the 168g? If you want more punch pick a bigger bullet its that easy.
