I went with a GreyBull on my last build, it was the first GreyBull I have owned and I went with the stock without having handled it prior. Benchmark barrels suggested I try one they had a selection of them on hand in the shop. Upon receiving my custom rifle
from Benchmark, I got a good chance to look at it and I was pleased with the fit and general look but as others have mentioned, it is a bit thick throughout the vertical grip. I dint pay that much attention to it, due to the fact I shoot most of my vertical grip style stock with my thumb resting center on top. Very rarely do I take a full wrap around grip on the vertical.
Well after my first range session I found out in a hurry that with my new rifle chambering I defanitly needed to take a full grip on the vertical to help manage the recoil and to keep the trigger guard from recoiling rear ward and slapping my middle finger wrapped around the front of the vertical grip. A 450 Ultra Magnum with a 500gr bullet on top of 103gr of Win748 is lively to say the least on the bench. When I took a full grip it felt larger than A5's or A3's I shoot but it didn't feel uncomfortable. My thought was, I would like it to be a bit slimmer but it will do fine.
