Favourite .243 varminting Projectiles

I have been using hornady 65gr Vmax projectiles in my .243 Sako L579. I am just wondering what are everyones favourites for varminting when using the .243 Winchester. I am interested to see what brands and what barrel twist are favoured when using projectiles around the 60-70gr projectiles. Also interested in powders used etc.

Re: Favourite .243 varminting Projectiles

I have a Ruger MKII S/S .243 that shoots the 55g Nosler BT at 3975fps and .5" 3 shot groups at 100 yards. I use a full case of H-380 powder. This load will desintegrate squirrels into red mist. It is about the most awesome varmint combo I have found. It is a lot more dramatic then my 22-250 with 40g V-max at 4150fps. I have used it on squirrels and coyotes out to 500 yards.

My favorite .243 bullet for woodchucks is a 105gr A-Max’s in front of 50.0 gr of RL-25 piped by a 29”” Lilja 8” twist 3 groove driven at 3340 fps out of my 243 Ackley. Those bullets are very terminal on hogs out to 900 yards.
Below are some pictures of hogs I shot with the A-Max’s.
