Re: Favorite 6.5 Cartridge

At the moment I am thinking of a 260 rem AR for "short range" sniper matches.

Im running 68gn of MRP2 with 140 VLD. We are at 4470 elevation if that makes a difference. The best group I have shot with it is .471 at 300yds.

Re: Favorite 6.5 Cartridge

Ekaphoto, I think the man that started this thread was more interested in a narrow band of newer & faster 6.5s to see where the interest and design ideas were leading us...especially with that niche. It is nothing against your wonderfully deadly light recoil round. If you go back to read from page one you will see that he has kindly acknowledged standard rounds but has drawn out some pretty exciting developments by himself and others in the field; going more, even much more than 3,000 fps. Enjoy rereading all of these replies it has been along and successful thread.

Re: Favorite 6.5 Cartridge

Been out of town for a few days which will probably be the norm this summer.

CR, thanks for standing in. Actually, I was a bit ignorant of all the 6.5 offerings and didn't realize the popularity of the 6.5x55 Swede or the Creedmoor. I also thought polls were restricted to 10 options.

Ekaphoto, I have learned a lot about the Swede cartridge and it's notable history and impressive record as a result of this thread.

Cheers
