Favorite 6.5 Cartridge

What is the best or your favorite 6.5 rifle cartridge and why? Maybe you can also mention a pet load and its performance.

I'm having a 6.5 built and leaning to the 6.5 WSM for velocity and range. I have the Broughton 5C Varmint barrel and SSG Brake and it will go on a Howa/Vanguard action. Still need to order a stock, probably from McMillan.

6.5 Rem was a typo, should be 260 Rem.

My original plan for this project was a 6.5 Dakota. it's been on hold for over a year now and getting back on track. In fact I have a 100 pieces of Dakota brass just sitting here. I changed my mind to go a little less overbore and see how long the barrel lasts. I plan to get it nitrided and if goes well i might do a 6.5 Dakota in the future.

116 year's ago the mauser brothers got it right, may be slightly out dated now days but the Swede's were scraping guns that wouldn't put 1.3 in groups at 300 meters with iron sight. That's simply amazing to me.

I like them all, but my favorite is the first one I had, the 6.5x55. Mild mannered and all the old mausers I have had could all shoot. My latest one is a build off a Stevens 200 action and in the modern action it can sizzle pretty good.

    +1

6.5x55 is not on the list.
