How hard was it to get the accuracy out of them that you got? Also I really want to hear how your hunt goes and how well they perform. Up here just about everything I shoot is bigger than an antelope but I am still intersted.. Oh yea and when you do get one it would be good to hear about the meat damage it causes expecially sending that bullet as fast as you are
Tony, You'll have to ask Steve all those questions. I have not shot them yet. I'm hoping to order some before too long, but things are real tight for me right now and I have a few other priorities. Got involved in another rifle project. I wont be using them this hunting season but I hope I can get a load worked up by spring bear season. Steve is shooting a 30-378. I'll be shooting a 300 RUM and *hope* to get about 3550 give or take out them. If I can get that velocity, they would have potential to be a 1500 yd deer/elk load based on their opening velocity of 1600 fps. All very optimistic, but I think they will be capable of well past 1K.
If I can load 210 Bergers to the lands, I'm sure I can load these to the lands. They are very similar in length and shape. They wont fit the mag, but I can still put one down as explained above. Good enough for me till if and when I get an extended mag.
Steve has used the 173's on game and he said they are great killers.
