Douglas Barrels
Anyone have any experience with Douglas Barrels. I live relatively close to this facility and am considering trying out one of their barrels. I know Douglas used to be a big name in custom barrels but its been quite awhile since Ive heard them mentioned.

I have 3 rifles built with Douglas bbls, made a "while" ago, but all very good shooters.

I have one on my 7mag, it wasn't lapped or anything so it took a little more work to get it to stop fouling so bad but it shoots great. I don't believe they lap them though so (mine wasn't) I would opt for one that is hand lapped.

Keep in mind the animals we shoot for food and display are not bullet proof. Contrary to popular belief, they bleed and die just like they did a hundred years ago. Being competent with a given rifle is far more important than impressive ballistics and poor shootability. High velocity misses never put a steak in the freezer.

The barrels shoot great...............I have 2 and like both of them. I know a lot of guys that shoot them in the wv 1000yd benchrest matches. If I was going to buy one today I would definately order a douglas who wants to wait 28 weeks for a kreiger?
