re: Comparing the Berger 210 VLD to the 215 Hybrid

My first experience with the 215 berger hybrids has just been withpiin the last 3 days but I am shooting these heavy 215s out of a 308 win at a mv of only 2475 and have had great results in elr with accuracy in sub moa out to 1500 yards during load data work this was a paper group not on rocks 2 days ago I took the coyote at 1107 yards with a estimated velocity of 1322 fps with great expansion and even had an exit hole of about 4 my signature pix is the exit wound also at 1000 yards I have shot a 3 round group of 5.3 and a 6 round group of 6.18 trying to attach this pix from phone it will also be as my signature pic being I cannot find how to upload straight to this link via phone

re: Comparing the Berger 210 VLD to the 215 Hybrid

Nice work!

I took Broz's advice and ordered a oehler 35 chrono. It seems all the 215's are sold out or are on backorder, so i will load the 210's and 230's first and test with new chrono as well as my other loads to see what it shows in comparison.

Thanks,

Glenn.

re: Comparing the Berger 210 VLD to the 215 Hybrid

Great thread really enjoyed reading it lots of information. Do have a question For either 308 or broz or anyone with answer. 308 if you are getting 2400+fps out of your .308 how much more MV would one expect out of a 30-06 22" barrel? This is for future possible load for my .06 after i get proficient with what I have. I did see the post for a rifle in .06AI that was pushing the 215's around 2700. Was thinking the reg .06 wouldn't gain much over 2500-2600 tops if that Any Guesses or general range of mv?? That is a s.w.a.g on that statement. Again great shooting and great hunting!

re: Comparing the Berger 210 VLD to the 215 Hybrid

Kill number 20 with the 215 Berger Hybrid came today. Coyote at eating on a dead elk at 715 yards. Ranged with a PLRF10, 3 mph 9:00 wind, -3* down hill, dialed up 12.5 moa, left 1.25 moa and drove one through the ribs center mass.

Impact velocity 2189 fps
entrance hole was .308"
Exit was 1 1/4"
impact energy 2288 ft.lbs.

I was happy to see very nice expansion even on a soft yote at 700 plus. But this tough sucker still ran 40 yards spewing blood before he did a triple gainer for his finale. I gave it an 8.5

Jeff
