I am with bowhunter24, anything in 6.5mm is good for women or children, recoil is mild and will flat out perform. The 6.5-284 is a good one, but brass is pricey, the 264WM is a great one and recoil is mild with 140gr. bullets and will hammer a deer, brass can be hard to find sometimes, but the manufacturers make runs every year. The 6.5-06 is good also and you can use 25-06 brass. I am building a 6.5-06 now for myself and possibly my wife or son in the future, can't wait to get it back, gonna be mine for a little while. Rebareling a Rem. 700 mountain rifle with a 24in. #4 Douglas, got some 140gr. Bergers waiting on it.
