Looks like the heavy weights might expand just fine in the 300 WSM. I just want to minimise riccochets that could take out farmers cattle. I 6mm I had loved to bounce Berger 95gr VLD's off hard ground & that made me really nervous when the target i was shooting was in amongst a large herd of cattle.

I original was going to chamber for the 208gr Amax to minimise wind drift but was told that Hornady were going to stop production of the Amax....Any truth in this?? I know the Amax expand well but I didn't want to hedge my bets on one bullet in case my barrel didn't like them.
