I've procrastinated for far too long on building a 300 Wsm varminter! I have a suitable Barnard P action on hand with McMillan stock, Several bags of Norma brass & just ordered my Redding competition dies from Sinclaires.
The majority of my varminting is in the 300-600yard range, I'm not hung up on BC or having to allow for more wind as a result. What I want is maximum splat & air time! Do I barrel with a 1-16 to 1-17" twist for the lightweights or go 1-13 to 1-14" twist for the 150gr weight for the best carnage results?
I was hoping a fellow 300 varminter owner could offer some advice from their experience.
P.S - Before you ask I'm not "Wildcat" so be gentle
I just want to splat larger size varmints (Wallaby) which can get as big as 10kg & not have to worry about ricchochets taking out farmers cattle.
