Re: Bullet "frangibility"
OK, guys here's the deal. Shot a coyote yesterday @ 365 with the 75 A-Max @ 2950mv, which equates to 2300 fps, and about 865 ft lbs @ at impact. He was sitting facing me on his haunches, and I know he was hit solidly, as he went down hard with tail spinning. I watched him until the tail quit spinning, and i figured it was over. A minute later the dog got back up and left on all fours. ????? Any ideas as to what happened? I'm thinking the bullet went through one lung, and exited, but the energy at impact was enuf to put him down, probably with one collapsed lung, until he got his wits about him again, and left. I've also had a couple of unexplained losses with the JLK's too-- specifically the 70 @ 3100 mv. All this out of an AR-15 .223AI.
