Re: Bullet flight path

I expanded out the posibble BC range and recalculated for scope height 1.8 inches.

I got a best fit at MV=3300fps G1 BC = 0.256

This gives a drop table of

Range Yrds,Drop In,Drop MOA

Using this
You will be on target at 100 yards.
You will be 0.53 MOA low at 300 yards.
You will be on target at 400 yards.
You will be 0.07 MOA high at 500 yards.

This drop chart will be most inaccurate arount the 300 yard mark, but at 300 yards, you will be off target by as little as 1.6 Inches

I have written some computer code which calculates drop charts across a range of BCs and MVs, and finds the most accurate combination Vs a real world drop table using a method of least squares.

I wrote the code over the weekend so I was amazed when I say your posting today and thought to my self, "I can help with that"

If your ballistics calculator can use ballistic drag functions other that G1, try

G6 BC=0.14 , MV= 3288 fps

This should give an even more accurate chart.

I must reiterate that these values may not be close to your real world MV and BC, but the match the data you gave me, and thats whats most important.
