Re: Bullet choice for all around .338 WM load.

They both shoot extremely well, but this rifle has been pushed to the back burner in favor of my SAUMs. I have a dozen rifle/loads to 'test' or game, but I only have 3 deer tags. If I can get a line on some pigs, I'll let you know how they perform.

NBTs in 338 an above are beefed up already, I have recovered some from the claybanks. The BTs hold up better than the Speers do. The WW factory BTs are sweet shooters too, 2981 fps in my rifle. The 250 Part Golds are shooting 3/4 MOA at 2768 fps in my rifle. I am in East TX, so I won't be testing them on any elk or the like, but pigs will bleed in their stead.

The man that gave me the rifle did take several mulies, white-tail and an elk with the 200 gr Speers loaded with 4831. My Dad used the 210 NP but had no shots.

I use 225gr Barnes trip shocks for my .340wby. If I had a .338win I'd try to use the 210gr Barnes Trip shocks. Or the 185's. For the ranges you've listed I think these would be the best deal out there. good luck

I would go with a 225gr Nosler bullet. I have some loaded for my 338 RUM they are an excellent round.

Let me check, but I think I have a few 225gr Barnes X bullets that you can try if you want. If you don't already have the 338 dies, I've got some you can use.

Horn,
I didn't realize that you could load anything but Nosler 210 Partitions and H4831SC in the .338 Win. mag
