Brownings with Sako Actions

Hello All,

Question for anyone who might know the rate of twist for a 22-250 and a 243 win. in my Browning's with Sako actions.

Re: Brownings with Sako Actions

I don't know how you call it a "Browning" when it has a "Sako" Action. Usually the brand of the action, is the brand of the gun, even if it's a custom gun. But as to twist----

Take out your cleaning rod and a couple of patches, and measure the twist rate yourself. Once the rod with patches is snug in the barrel, it will rotate with the grooves in the barrel. Take a piece of scotch tape and put it on the rod like a flag. When you pull or push the rod in the barrel, the flag will rotate. After it makes one full rotation, the rod should either be so many inches in or out from your starting point. The number of inches is your rate-----1 rotation in 9" or 10" or 12"

Big Dog,

Not to argue with you but Sako provided the actions / guns to Browning from 1954 to 1972 they were asembled in both Finland and Belgium. They both say Browning on the barrel and have the Sako stamp on the action. Browning used the Sako action and the FN action during that time period.

Thanks---that's certainly an option I hadn't considered but should have allowed for.

Hope you solved your twist question.
