Broughton Barrels - canted lands
Below is a quote by Broughton Barrels concerning the canted land barrels. Does anyone out there have any experience with these barrels to back up the following statements?
In 2004 - 2006 we introduced 22RF, .224, .243, .264, .284, .308 and .338 caliber "5C TM" (canted land) barrels. These barrels being shot are showing exceptional clean ability, more velocity, longer barrel life, reduced bolt pressure and extreme accuracy - shooting small groups at short and long ranges. We will expand this land formation into other calibers/twist that we offer in 2007 & 2008. ***

I have a 6-284 XP-100 with a 1-8 twist Broughton 5C.
It shoots exceptionally well--Fired several 5-shot groups in the 5" area at a pistol match last June and I have used it to kill a PD with @ 1590 yards.
It also cleans up very well. Give Tim North a call--Super nice guy!

I have a 6.5-284 and 300 WSM with Broughton Barrels and a 6BR in the works. They are as good as any of the top Barrels. Clean easy and extremely accurate. I have used many custom Barrels in the past with great results, I now stick with Broughton. Tim North is as good as they get and stands behind his product.

I have had two Broughton canted lands 12 twist barrels in my .308. They shot well, cleaned easy, and coppered very little. My next .308 barrel will also be broughton....

Great! I just bought a 6mm 1-8 5-C ,1.250 barrel blank from Broughton. Makes me feel real good to read these reports. Tim and Aloma were great to deal with on my first purchase from them. Infact he had an extra barrel in the works, so I only had to wait around 3 weeks to get my barrel. How can you top that!

I am in the process of building a 7mm STW with a 1-9 twist, and ordered a Broughton 5C on Dec.7th. Their delivery time is about 8-10 weeks. After doing a lot of research, I was steered towards this barrel. It is very reassuring to read more positive comments like these, and can't wait to fire the gun!

Sounds great from an accuracy and ability to clean well. How about the increased velocity? - sounds like the canted lands reduce the baring surface of the bullet on the lands.
