I would say this is a fair assessment. I've been shooting Broughtons for a while now 8+ years and have noticed that only one of my 6.5 barrels took more copper than the rest. I cant say that they are any faster than any of the other barrels Ive used. I've had some great barrels from other manufacturers, but I can say my Broughtons consistently clean very easy. My current 6mm BR, 300wsm and 338 Norma run good speeds and take almost no copper. I am also extremely happy with the accuracy. Any maker can put out a bad barrel from time to time, I 've been fortunate with Broughton and have not got a bad one and between me and a few friends we have been through 20+
On re barrels Most shot the same load at the same or close FPS. I would not hesitate to buy another. I once asked Tim North what would happen if I get a bad barrel and he told me it would be replaced no questions asked and the smith would be compensated for his time. Good enough for me.
I had one friend tell me he felt he get a slow barrel from Broughton, kind of funny because that barrel went on to win the 1k world comp that year.
