brass swelling funny on 6mm please help

brass swelling funny on 6mm please help

just bought a used 6mm rem for a new truck play gun. and fired it today and all the brass have a perfect ring around them about 1/4 in down from shoulders and the brass from there down is swolen. whats the problem
please see pic top is fired bottom new brass

Hard to say but my first impression is they screwed up the chamber while reaming.

The edge of the case mouth looks messed up too. Boy, looks like someone really screwed up that chamber job.... Hope the seller was not a "friend" of yours ? If the barrel is long and the contour has enough meat for setting the chamber back several inches, perhaps it could be recovered, but a new barrel is a safer bet.

its a vz24 action custom barrel job i picked it up at a local pawn shop cheap. might just have it rechambered what do yal think i could get it done in

Find a good smith and have him set it back and rechamber it. Probably cost about $250

yeah someone jacked that chamber up. probably was a short chambered 243 or something and they tried to make it work. wouldn't be to hard to fix, hopefully...
