Re: berger?

P.M. Mphstigerfan for the link to Berger bullet performance at close range compared to two other well known bullets. If it doesnt work, shoot me a P.M. I think I saved it, but have no idea how to post the link.

Re: berger?

I have taken many animals from 60 yards to over 800 with Berger VLD's.

Never tracked one animal.

Re: berger?

It depends a lot on where you hit them. I wouldn't advise a shoulder shot on an elk at close range but would probably be DOA with a rib shot. Bergers, like most target bullets, have a WINDOW! They blow up at high velocity and won't expand below about 2000', depending on what you hit.......Rich

oops!, don't tell the Elk in my avitar that. He was shot at 650' in the shoulder... make that both shoulders.. with a 210 Berger VLD from the 30-378 Weatherby that he is holding for me while I took his pic. DRT.

Re: berger?

I'm surprised! I wouldn't count on that every time though. I've seen them really come apart with little penetration. At any rate, good shooting and nice bull......Rich
