Bedding question...

Do you guys float the whole barrel and just bed the action, or do you bed under the first two or three inches of barrel also.

Barrel in question is 28 inches long, has a brake (total is about 30"), is 1.055" OD and is .264 Winchester Magnum in a 18 pound BR style stock. Shooting is from 500 to over 1500 yards.

Rifle bedded by myself using Devcon plastic steel putty and it's a Savage solid bottom single shot action.
