Bedding a 34 in. .30-.378
I am leaning towards a McMillian Mchale stock for this rifle: Want to be able to hunt with it also.
Here is what I have.
.30-.378 34 in. Pac-Nor 3/3 land and groove barrel 1.35 tapers to 1.1 at muzzle
Hall E action
I have built several smaller rifles, always bedded them from tang to 2 in. in front of recoil lug. I usually use Brownells stainless steel bedding compound. I have been out of the game for a few years and was looking for some advise. With a barrel this long should I extend the bedding out in front of the recoil lug? Any thing better than the stainless steel bedding compound?
Any other thoughts or tips?
