Anyone have a 7mm-.338 Lapua?

Ok, been thinking about a big 7mm to push the 180gr VLD’s or 200gr Wildcats. I know Kirby has the 7mm Allen Mag that is based on a .338 lapua but is anyone shooting just a plain .338 Lapua necked down to a 7mm?

For those of you shooting this round, what kind of performance are you getting?

Thanks,
Jon

Re: Anyone have a 7mm-.338 Lapua?

Some one has it out there. I have a 7mm Alllen Mag. It shoots 160 accbounds at 3600 fps .

What I have to do this winter is work up losads for the 180 then the 200 grs.

If you can get the 200 grs will be the next thing. I e-mailed Paul from Wildcat 3 times now, no luck yet.

Was going to start a thread on that soon.

I know this thread was started some time ago, but finally I took the jump and built a 7mm-338 lapua mag.
It took about 8 months.
So far I'm running a few more different loads on the ammo, but the best we have achieved has been, Nosler accubond 160gns bullets, 92 grain retumbo
with 3500 FPS. Its awesome.
The rifle was build in Montana. Gun Smith Dave Young.
28 inch number 7 contour barrel 9 inch twist lilja brarrel.
defiance action
mcmillan lazzarotti stock
muzzel break
Huskemaw scope
jewell trigger

Welcome to LRH and enjoy!

Dave is quite the smith and I am 15 minutes away from him. I too would like to see some pictures of the rig, load, and whatever else you can share.
