Anybody shoot a barrel 30" or longer?

What cartridge?
Can you shoot it without earplugs?

Yep 30 in 7mm STW, and NO I cant shoot it without ear plugs.

When hunting I do shoot it without ear plugs but when working up a load, target shooting, or plinking always wear hearing protection.

No, I ALWAYS wear ear protection, even when hunting.

32 inch, .308 Win., always with ear plugs. I can't discern the sound difference between one of these and a 22 inch barrel.

Have and use several 30" and longer barrels. As stated you sould ALWAYS use hearing protection while doing bench work and its not a bad idea to do so while hunting but in many situations this is not practical.

I personally do not use protection while hunting, not even with my high intensity single shot handguns or braked rifles. Good motivation to make that first shot count!! [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

If my hearing is to good, I would be able to hear all my customers asking when their rifles will be ready!!! [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]
