Any reason not to use a Stiller Tac300 Action

Cartridge will be .338 Edge. Just wondering if there are any negatives with this actions before I shell out the coin.

Thanks.

Yes, there is one negative.

The difference between the Tac and the Predator is that the Predator is opened for the Wyatt extended box and the Tac is opened for the regular Remington box.

You'll want the extra room for the Edge.

Jayph,
I assume you're looking at the TAC338 since it is designed for the 338's and larger cartridges.

I own a Stiller TAC300 and it is a good action, the bolt is made by PT&G although I think I heard him say he makes them in house now.

The Bolt fit is not as tight as on some other customs because it's designed for tactical and hunting applications where a little more room is desired, 4 to 6 thousands. This is actually good if you are planning on painting your action (Duracoat or Cerakote).

Good luck with your project.

The TAC338 is built for the Lapua 338 and Big Weatherby bolt faces.

The Edge uses a standard magnum bolt face. Same as a 300win or 7mmRM.

He needs the TAC300 or Predator Long Action.

The Predator is better suited for the 338 Edge.
