ALLEN PRECISION XHS repeater in 338 ALLEN MAGNUM

Just range tested my first XHS repeater using the XLR Revolution Chassis stock. To say I am impressed is an understatement. About as comfortable as it gets for shooting a weapon of this class. Load I used was my accuracy load which only produces 3330 fps with the 300 gr Berger Hybrid at relatively mild chamber pressures but it shoots extremely well and brass life is amazing.

Tested at 1050 yards today. Shot three, 3 shot groups, all were between 5" and 8" which were the first three groups fired from the rifle. After break in I suspect this rifle will be quite special.

Recoil is about like a 270 Win in a 9 lb rifle, very mild.

Rifle specs:

338 Allen Magnum
XHS repeater
Stiller TAC408 receiver
Lilja custom ALLEN34 contour, SS barrel, 1-10 twist, 34" finish length
50BMG style flutes
ALLEN PRECISION large 5 port Painkiller muzzle brake
Bead Blast matte finish on barrel/brake
XLR Revolution Chassis stock w/ modified Chey Tac 7 round DM
Jewell trigger with bottom safety
40 moa rail base
Two sets of 1.250" ultralight 30mm Nightforce rings
NF NXS 5.5-22x 56mm with NP-R1 reticle

Anyway, some gun porn!!!

Here you can see how the Detachable Magazine box must be modified to fuction properly with my Allen Magnum case design. Because the shoulder location is moved forward to increase case capacity compared the the 375 Chey Tac parent case, the shoulder control bump must be machined out of the mag box wall. On the upside, it makes a functional ammo count window!!! Plus, its cool seeing those big sharp shouldered rounds sitting in the mag!!!

Kirby,
I had to pick my jaw up off the ground, that is freakin sweet, that looks so badass. What does she weigh in at? 5"-8" at 1050 yards while doing break-in! Is this a personal rifle or a customers? Congrats on a great looking stick.

Re: ALLEN PRECISION XHS repeater in 338 ALLEN MAGNUM

Its a customers rifle. I have the componants ordered to build myself one just like this but with a bit different buttstock. There are three options for buttstock choice.

Only decision now is what to chamber it in...... 338 Allen Magnum, 375 Allen Magnum, 458 Allen Tactical or 50 Allen Tactical....... Maybe a switch barrel with one of each!!!

Kirby

That photo setting for the first image is the best I've ever seen for a gun picture.
