For whitetail sized game mostly under 500 yards...7mm Rem Mag is what I shoot.
For whitetails 500+ I use my 7mmSTW.
I love all 7mm calibers, minus the mini-mags...Never found much love for them for some reason...
I say if you are shooting Elk or Muleys from 100-1000+ go with a STW and handloads, or Nosler Custom Trophy Grade 160gr Accubond STW loaded ammo.
