Re: 7 mm STW Loads

H4831SC - 81.5
Nosler Ballistic Tip - 140
Winchester magnum primer
TTL - 2.84
MOAL - 3.575
100-600 trajectory 2.5/3.25/.25/-7/-19/-36

This is what I use in the guns listed below: I get 3510 and 3525 FPS respectively. Came up with data before there was published data and it works. Good luck.

Re: 7 mm STW Loads

4831 is just to fast a powder for 140's you should be using H1000 and with 160 try some H5010 if you can find it. My 140 are reaching 3500 from a 26" Douglas barrel and my 160's near 3400.

Re: 7 mm STW Loads

Curious....why do you say that 4831 is too fast for 140's? So far my STW shoots the best group using H4831 and 140 Accubond. I may be wrong, but I even think Nosler's reloading guide showed H4831 as their most accurate load for the 140's. I changed from 80 gr of RL22 with 150 Scirocco's to 75gr H4831 and 140 Accubonds. The later tightened up my groups enough for me to get really excited about the load. I am going to chrono the load next week and work on maybe bumping up the charge a little.

Oleman - why is H4831 wrong? I am using a factory tube on the Laredo and a factory barrel rechambered on the sporter and I am matching your speeds with a 140 grain pill. Let me know.

Things that make you go Hmmmm....

budlight, the 140's aren't very destructive on deer, from 300-500 yds they hold togather very well, at 90 yds they aren't any worse out of a stw than they are from any other .284 dia. rifle, besides the 140's shoot flatter to 600 yds than the 160's out of the big 7

Re: 7 mm STW Loads

Let me know what you end up with fps wise..Going to start a batch next week. Been way too busy hunting lately..by the way been slow..Did get to finish off a potential BC blacktail for a buddy at 280 yds due to him only hittin the buck in the knee..And guess what ..its his first deer ever..
