The 6mm Br has lots of information on it, go to 6mmbr.com. Its a pretty good varmint round, I would personally feel comfortable using it on deer with the right bullets at closer ranges. I know this kinda sounds crazy, but its actually legal to hunt elk with here in Oregon. A friend of mine did, with head shots at close range. But its definetly not an elk cartridge.

Don't know much about the Grendal. I think it was designed for the AR-15 platform based on the 220 russian (or ppc) brass, In a slightly improved version. 26 caliber. Looks awefully slow to me. But i've read some good accuracy reports. I would look at the 6.5x47 lapua way before I looked at the grendal.

The Grendel is quite accurate, and has been used to take quite a few deer already, along with hogs, etc.

Heres one of the latest:

and an antelope thread:

I use mine for varmints, but loading the 120 grain Barnes TSX it turns into a pretty good deer round out to 300-400 yards, assuming you can put the shot on target.

As far as the 6mm BR goes, well, thats an interesting choice for hunting, most of the rifles for it are pretty heavy to carry around for any distance!

6.5-.284 or the 6.5x47 are also good rounds with more pop than the Grendel or BR.

Ever think about the 6.5X47 Lapua?

Think of it as a 6.5/284 Short... along the line of comparison with a 300wm and 300wsm...
